The Perfect Life
Arguing and fighting,
sometimes the world (sometimes each other)
A night time push,
unconsciously rude (roll back the covers!)
Wake up to snoring,
In my dreams I will hope (you’ll still adore me)
Breakfast in bed?
The puppies have spoken (they’ll soon be older, and hopefully housebroken)
-
Something more than the sum of its parts
Something worth working for, though hard at the start
-
If I bend down to one knee will you take what I give?
If I buy you a house, is that where you’ll live?
If I’m to cold to sleep, will you spoon me some heat?
Will you love and love me and love me complete?
These questions I ask you, not out of fear,
But from loving every answer that I get to hear!
A yes, a yes… yes! yes! and more.
My future, my smile, my heart, ever yours.
-
-
(I miss you boop!) Here is the joke ending I accidentally started writing…
-
-
Cut up my dreams, I’d tear down the sky.
I would look, if I had to, I’d search my whole life.
But Baby! Not now! We’ve got plans to pursue.
The world is too free! There’s too much to do!
Lets stop and slow down, and take what we have.
In a while we’ll have more (You can be mom; I will be dad?).
I start writing a poem, and it comes full of jokes.
that’ll probably be our life, just some jokes till we croak!
Not really, though, Shannon, and although I do kid.
I have loved more and more since the day we first kissed.
And from this moment on, (and remind me of this promise)
I promise to be ‘serious’ for when the moment calls it.
Like a serious conversation, about definitely not poop.
Or a serious moment, like when I call you (boop-boop).
Or when I refer to you as boop, or a booping occurs.
These are the serious things that we might have to endure.
You never know when you are dating the man they call:
MR JERK!
-
A kiss, a hug, a sqeeze, (a smack).
If you love me forever, I’ll love you back!
